Creating a meaningful events industry community

The wedding and events industry is incredibly dynamic and creative, so building a strong and meaningful community is vital. For me, the events industry isn't just a job; it's a way of life. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in this industry has given me a unique perspective; and over the years, I've had the privilege of working very closely with countless event vendors, many of them beloved PartySlate Premium members. I've witnessed the incredible talent, unwavering passion, boundless patience, and deep love that each of you brings to your craft. It's this shared dedication that makes our industry so special.
One of the highlights of my role at PartySlate has been the opportunity to meet many of our Premium members in person at our events. These encounters feel like catching up with old friends, where we can chat, learn from your experiences, and connect on a personal level. It's evident that your industry partnerships and teams are the heart of your businesses, and fostering these connections is invaluable.
We understand the value of making connections and growing your referral network, so we have ways of creating a meaningful industry community both in person and online. Check out our future PartySlate events here!
I'm sharing two approaches you can take to expand your professional network, both online and in person.
1. Utilize PartySlate’s Meet the Team Feature
PartySlate’s "Meet the Team" feature is one of our favorite ways for members to personalize their profiles. It allows you to showcase the faces and names behind your brand. You have the freedom to choose which team members to feature, enabling you to uniquely position and promote your talent. This feature is a fantastic way to put your team front and center, helping potential clients and vendor partners get to know the brilliant minds and passionate hearts behind your events.
“Meet the Team” gives you a forum to showcase your team's expertise, and let your clients and vendor partners know that they're not just hiring a service; they're partnering with a group of dedicated event professionals who care deeply about their craft.

2. Make Quality Connections in Your Market

In the events industry especially, there's something magical about meeting and working together in person. We understand the value of relationships, vendor referrals, creative collaboration, and the impact they have on our industry's success. PartySlate events are the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old industry friends and make new ones.
In fact, PartySlate is gathering together in New York City next week for an event exclusively for Premium members. This two day event will be filled with opportunities to grow your network, sit it on digital marketing and brand education from top industry thought leaders, be inspired by upcoming wedding and event trends, and take some time to relax and have fun. If you’d like to get an invitation to attend this event or receive updates about future events, let us know here.
Beyond PartySlate events, taking these 4 actions will help you make the most of industry community and vendor referral networks:
-
Attend live and virtual events to connect with professionals who share your passions.
-
Collaborate with fellow event professionals on projects to build trust and strengthen your network.
-
Share your knowledge and experiences through event planning workshops, webinars, or blog posts within your events industry community.
-
Seek out opportunities to refer colleagues when their expertise and style aligns with your clients' needs.
I look forward to seeing you all again soon, whether it's in person or virtually. Together, we can continue to elevate the events industry and create unforgettable communities that propel our industry forward and bring us all closer together.
Cheers to meaningful connection,
Marlee Somerman
